Job Title- Test Analyst Daily Tasks- Scripting, executing. Adding in some automation aspects and reviewing business analyst documents. Lots of traveling and meetings liaising with project manager, agile manager, developers and business analysts.
I have learnt so much since joining. The main skill for me is time management as my day job is so demanding however still need to find time for the university work. I am now ISTQB certified and now looking at attending the Certified Agile Testing course. Both are really well recognised in the industry.
Work- Is great and learning so much however work load is high however the company have things in place which help you manage it and also CGI are very relaxed to which is always nice when you have a big work load as then you do not feel as pressured Team- Surrounded by some great people which are supportive. I have built some great relationships with the senior management which aid me with implementing the new ideas. This programme has exceeded my expectations and I really enjoy it
I feel so valued at the moment in time due to the influence I am having on my project. Appreciation for manger, program manager and director is high! I am so involved within tasks within the project I am working in. This means I am constantly building relationships and meeting new people. I can also learn off these to I also get the credit when it comes to innovation so no one tries to take credit for the ideas which is also very nice
The program from CGI is good however the university have lots of room for improvement. The induction days were very well organised and filled with information which to be honest is hard to take in. The support for training and studying is really good. You get a mentor and a buddy which aid you with University and work life in general
A lot of support is provided from the university and most of them respond to emails which is great due to me only going one day a week. You can also set up calls with university teachers if you have any questions while working on the modules during the week and these help a lot. The university are aware of how hard it is trying to get a balance so support you all the way
Lots starting from management in project, to the HR team and then from the university At work we have the HR team which are very supporting when you have any questions as they have all been through this process so know it very well We also have mentor which aid you with study but also getting your feet on the ground when you join the company We also have a buddy which is someone which is going through the same process as yourself so they are also able to assist with this
My salary easily meets my costs My salary covers travel costs to base location and then when I go to other offices/client sites I have enough to spend and then claim back through the expense system. The social costs are low if you sign up to the sport and social club as you get most events for free which is always nice
Yes the company pay for you to go on training courses if they think they will benefit you. Also you can go out and do talks in other schools to tell them about your experience
Yes
The experience is so good and you have no university debt
Be relaxed and be yourself. They are watching you as soon as you step in the building so interact with others, do not sit on your own
