  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the Real Estate team which is made up of about 50 people. I am part of two client accounts, my daily jobs are replying to emails, adding properties to our system, invoicing and other admind tasks. I am working on a social media project in my team. I attend CII events as part of my apprenticeship so it is social.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am working towards my certificate in Insurance. There are lots of oppurtunities to attend training courses, I recently attended a social media class and the company holds talks about the business and other themes like women in the market. I have gained both personal and professional skills from the on the job experience and working with a wide range of people in the team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme. We had a two week training course at the start of the scheme and I have made a really good network of friends with the other apprentices. I am enjoying it much more than I expected.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aon?
  • I feel appreciated within my team and you will recieve praise when you do good work. There is less external recognition outside of my team and so far I haven't been involved in many projects at Aon outside of my team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised. We have a talent coach who we meet with monthly to discuss tasks which need to be completed and how we are getting on at work. We also have study sessions all together with a trainer for each of our exams. I have quite a lot to do at work so there is less time for my apprenticeship during work hours.

  • It has been a really great experience so far. My whole team is knowledgeable and friendly and I feel very involved and comfortable even though I haven't even been working here for 6 months.

  • Be enthusiastic and show you want the job! I didn't have any experience in insurance but I still managed to get the job. The application process is long but worth it.
