I am a manufacture apprentice. On a day to day basis I work within a manufacture team producing Duac Gels. I am involved in the manufacture of the product, and also the washing of the vessels. I also work closely with project teams to help develop and maintain the area.
I have developed a lot of new team work skills as I have been working with a lot of different shifts to help develop my on plant skills. I have also learnt new skills that I need to use when producing the batches.
I enjoy my program as I get the chance to work within a well skilled and driven manufacture team.
I do feel valued as other people seem to respect the apprentices as they believe we are the 'next generation'.
I do feel there is times where the program could be more structured. I feel as if there should be a schedule that we stick to, by this I mean a routine where through the three years of my apprenticeship we routinely rotate so that we see all areas of manufacture.
very little. I feel as I am on a HNC currently and it has been pushed into 1 year, I feel we need more support from the training provider. We are in the college 1 week a month and then expected to produce a number of assignments. I feel there could be more communication in between our college weeks to help us produce the highest quality of work.
We are given enough support by the site. we are given study days to catch up on work. o feel this is needed when having a large amount of academic work.
I feel the salary is at the right amount.
As GSK is such a recognised company I feel that the opportunities are greater now I work for the company.
Yes
I feel as if GSK is a well respected company with competitive salaries. The company is always striving for success and as a employer their is often new opportunities within the site.
Be confident in who you are and respect what GSK have to say.
