  • Yes, heavily developed IT skills and general life skills such as attention to detail, presentation skills and persistency.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The role itself is fairly mundane however the company has a brilliant culture, great mentors to work with and positive future options.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by UBS?
  • From my small team of apprentices and manager I feel I am highly valued. However the wider network that I work with and produce work for does not reflect the same sentiment.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Incredibly well organized. Learning infrastructure set up providing learning classes and mentors. However too rigid in the fact that there is to be no flexibility of exam dates, we cannot take the exams when we feel ready to, we must wait until the apprentice coordinator wants us to do it.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Plenty of support, can access the support whenever necessary.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Similar to part a. The employer heavily supports the education of apprentices.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • At face value the wage looks good. However a £6k commute & expensive London food prices makes a heavy impact on expenditures.

  • Plenty, networks and events to attend to, in-house gym etc...

  • 9. Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A brilliant opportunity to kick start a career in the financial industry, however it is not a walk in the park. To get to the final goal will be a long grind and hard work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • Be themselves, Be confident and never be negative. Treat the application like a sales pitch, you need to sell yourself to the employer.
