Signaller apprentice Within Westwood - 6 days a week would consist of instructors delivering modules regarding the apprenticeship. Daily interactions would consist of numerous NR colleagues. It's our responsibility to ensure we are on time and provide full attention throughout the working day. Average day would consist of 8 hours work then attend gym, swim, steam room followed by the afternoon meal. ending the day on down time Post Westwood - currently attending DU. Still unsure on full responsibilities
Absolutely, the apprenticeship has already provided myself with new personnel skills, and even qualifications. this includes external courses such as PTS and DCCR
Working in a friendly, supportive environment makes it very enjoyable. This extends throughout the company. Exceeding my expectations greatly.
Recognition is a constant value throughout NR. No matter the size of the job
the programme was well organised. inductions, training, support task delegation and hierarchy was made very easy to adhere to
Tutor went above and beyond with regards to after hours support. staying later than expected ensuring we are up to date and have a grasp on the task in hand
Again, if there was any issue that arose during the apprenticeship, it would be dealt with swiftly and fairly. Even if you didn't initially contact the correct personnel for the job - they will ensure it finds its correct place
NR do cover travel costs if applicable. currently, with my pay package, I believe it isn't allowing for social spending. Merely covering the essential living and daily costs. with that being said - everyone would always ask for more pay
absolutely, even if a job isn't provided with NR, the apprenticeship will provide you with qualifications that can be utilised in other companies
