Pharmaceutical Technical Apprentice, my day to day role involves review and preparation of quality documentation. My interactions are mainly with process engineers and subject matter experts in there fields. Help to make sure that regulatory standards are met and give guidance when possible, or lead to someone who would know more.
My time management and organisation skills have greatly improved over the duration of the apprenticeship. I have managed to get an HNC in Operations Engineering, which is very useful to have in a quality assurance function.
I work with a very helpful and inspiring team and this makes my day to day role interesting and engaging. The company has many opportunities for development which could be presented more at the start, but if you have a good manager these are made apparent to you at the start of your apprenticeship. My expectations were met, and my role is enjoyable.
My manager is very supportive and is willing to help and offers development opportunities when they arise. Internal recognition for the quality department is not expressed as well as other functions within the business. My effort and opinion within projects and tasks I have taken has always been well received.
It is still a new programme and has teething problems, which will get ironed out as regular feedback is given.
My advisor/ provider is very helpful and has systems in place to make sure all my academic requirements are delivered and where possible they can arrange for my academic requirements to be met.
The accessibility service is exceptional and is able to meet all my needs and has systems to support any work or personal changes that need to be facilitated to help me be an effective employee.
I moved from a different county to do my apprenticeship so the financial remuneration does not quit meet my day to day living in the part of the country. The location is affluent. Possibility of a relocation allowance or a tiered geographical salary would have been very welcome.
The location benefits from a beautiful beach and during the summer teams have BBQ's. The location also benefits from an exceptional rugby team and rowing clubs.
Yes
It's a great learning experience that will prepare you to excel in your chosen apprenticeship and beyond.
Ask loads of questions and be receptive of others peoples view point. Good communication and a willingness to learn is generally appreciated.
