My job title is maintenance techinician an currently i'm training in the workshop to be prepared for going out onto the plant.
By the end of the apprenticeship i will have a level 3 BTEC, a competency qualification and an NVQ. I have learnt alot of new skills include welding and hydraulics.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship. i have met lots of new people and it is an excellent company to work for.
I do feel valued by my employer as we are all given responsibilities around the apprenticehsip and the company itself.
My programme is well organised and well structured. Our week involves one college day and 3 1/2 days in the workshop learning all new skills.
We receive lots of support from out tutors in the workshop.
We receive alot of support from the employer. We have regular reviews where we indicate any further support needed and it is dealt with immediately.
As a first year apprentice, just leaving secondary school, the salary exceeds my expectation.
Yes, there are lots of oppurtunities outside of work, that benefit us in work for example opening events and charity events.
Yes
It is an excellent employer and we receive many benefits like a scheme car and staff discounts. In the apprenticehsip we will gain alot of experience as well as qualifactions.
I would focus on your attitude to work and what interests you have outside of work.
