I am an Apprentice Support Engineer. My daily tasks include monitoring servers and completing ticket requests. I interact with my colleagues on a daily basis to help complete work tasks. My responsibilities include monitoring servers and flagging up any issues.
I have completed MTA qualifications while on my course and will be undertaking many more external qualifications to enhance my career. I have also developed communication skills, time keeping skills and orginisation skills.
I am enjoying the programme so far. I get on well with my colleagues which helps to create an easy working atmosphere.
I feel valued by my team and management as feedback is often given after tasks.
My programme has been very well organised from the induction to my training and studying. When i have exams upcoming I am given study leave to help with this. Task delegation is very fair between me and my colleagues.
I receive lots of support from my training provider. I have monthly visits from them and am able to contact them whenever I need any support.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. This includes from my manager and my colleagues. They are always willing to lend a helping hand.
My salary is enough to cover all my expenditure.
There are many company activities that get arranged such as Christmas parties and holidays for apprentices and graduates. This is a great opportunity to meet other people in similar situations as you.

Apprenticeships are a great career stepping stone. You get to learn both theory and how to apply it everyday while getting paid to do so.
Be yourself through the entire application process and be honest. Always be punctual and dress to impress. As apprentices you are not really required to have a lot of on-the-job knowledge. They will be mostly looking at who you are as a person and how you would fit into the team.
