I am a facilities management apprentice at the Olympic park. I am only in the first 2 months of my apprenticeship. so far i have been working with the various teams around the park. I have just completed my 6 week placement with the help desk where i became familiar with all the different help desk processes. this placement also allowed me to gain an understanding of our contract and what it en-tales.
I have became very familiar with the program Maximo. i now know how to log corrective and reactive work orders, assign PPMs and update job logs. I have also been on a nebosh environmental awareness course. I have also learned about many of the different systems around the venues we are contracted to maintain such as the AHUs, UPs systems and the BMS
It has been fun and challenging so far. the general day to day activities are quite varied which has helped to keep this experience fresh and exciting.
I feel valued. when i have completed a task well i feel like i am usually give some praise for it.
Whist there is some structure in place there is some room for improvement in this area. However these gaps have made me think more critically about how i should carry out a task which has encouraged me to think for myself a bit more.
I cant say as i haven't started my training course yet
I have received support from my manager and the rest of my team whenever i have requested it.
My salary is currently at London living wage however this is not enough to support myself without additional support
yes there seems to be loads of training courses that i am able to go on. i am also about to start some community out reach work, working with school children to come up with their own energy efficiency projects.
Yes
I have enjoyed my time here. its a really good company to get some experience with. I believe this placement will open up many opportunities in the future.
