On a day-to-day basis, I work with a skill man on the shop floor on various project. I learn various processes and skills required to complete assembly task. In my first three years of my apprenticeship I completed 3 month placements around the factory to gain a better understanding of the products MBDA Build. I'm given the opportunity to work independently on certain assemblies which helps greatly with my learning.
Whilst learning on the job, I have completed my Level 3 electrical and mechanical NVQ and have claimed my certificated for both. I also attend college once a week where I'm currently working towards my electrical HND. I have attended various training courses which were provided for apprentices at different stages of their apprenticeship. I have completed 3 personal development course which involves personal development, team building and career skills. I have completed various internal courses like overhead cranes, pneumatic cranes and first aid.
I have really enjoyed the programme and wish to continue working at MBDA after my apprenticeship. I have enjoyed working with everybody on the shop floor and getting to know new people everyday.
I have been recognised in the past for my enthusiasm within the workplace and have been nominated for apprentice of the year least year (2017. I get praised for my hard work and this get shown through my placement reviews.
The organisation has be ok. There have been some areas which weren't structure well. This only occurred towards the end of my apprenticeship
I have always been supported by people on the shop floor throughout my training and have guided when I struggle with the job. their attitude toward apprentices is good and they're willing to pass on their knowledge and their tricks of the trade. I have enjoyed working with these people.
My managers throughout my apprenticeship have always been helpful and ensure that I get the best out of my placements. I like to challenge myself and they provide the challenges for me without pushing me outside my comfort zone.
I earn whilst leaning. I have paid for my own car, motorbike and my hobby with is horse riding. I have travelled on various holidays and wish to continue to travel to more exotic countries. I have started a saving scheme to help my save for a mortgage.
I have been chosen to attend various events to support the apprenticeship schemes and through this I have seen familiar faces join the company. I have travel to different MBDA site to attend conferences and personal development. I wish to travel to other sites and continue with my learning on live build.
