I am on the Project Management apprenticeship, currently in my second of two years. My project team are delivering the capability to audio record face-to-face interviews in branch, across mortgages, banking & savings, wealth and Business Banking. I am leading the delivery to Business Banking and I am responsible for many deliverables including training, communications & engagement, user details, hardware and software. I liaise with my internal and external suppliers and update my stakeholders with progress on a regular basis.
Chairing audio conference calls was a steep learning curve as I found it difficult not to see the attendees. However, by being encouraged - but not pushed - out of my comfort zone has helped me overcome my nerves.
I really enjoy the daily work - no two days are ever the same. My team are all very supportive and we collaborate well.
I feel that I am a valued team member and have been selected to represent the LBG Apprenticeship, something I'm very proud of.
I will be finishing the programme early (after about 18 months) as I will have completed all of the work ahead of schedule. I think it could have been condensed.
My training provider can be emailed for support and I have a monthly catch up with him, however I have completed my work ahead of schedule and am being encouraged to slow down.
I receive a lot of support, I have a weekly 121 with my Line Manager and have a mentor who I can meet as often as I like. I'm encouraged to set development goals and complete further in house training.
I'm very happy with my salary.
I have been involved in organising an awards event and meal for a local homeless charity, and supporting National Apprenticeship Week.
Yes
There's an incredible amount of support available, and it's an organisation that I'm proud to work for.
The selection process is fairly long but it's well worth it!
