My day consists of shadowing the mechanical team, helping with breakdowns and planned maintenance and generally being a part of the team. I am given independent workshop jobs to complete myself as well
Skills with tools and manual handling,i have developed my communication skills and how to interact with people in the workplace effectively. My general mechanical knowledge has been greatly improved as well as my theoreticle knowledge.
I enjoy every day at work/ college and look forward to each day as there's always new challenges to overcome and new knowledge to pick up for the team I work with
I feel valued and am treated like a normal part of the team, I am given tasks on my own as they trust me to complete them properly and am always encouraged and praised.
The programme is very well structured, I have no they meetings to discuss my progress and if I have any problems, any problems I do have are always sorted out quickly.
I have monthly meetings with my train provider and have constant support at college if I have problems with any aspects of my education. I find the support very good.
My team leader and .manager are always looking out for me and their door is always open if I need advice or have a problem, any problems I have are always resolved and they are always looking for new opportunities for me to be involved in.
My living costs and expenses are always covered each month, leaving me enough left over for savings and to have a good social life, for my age the salary is very good
I am always being given opportunities outside of work, I have taken part I many apprentice event and STEM events, I enjoy these as jt allows me to be involved in different things and develop other skills.
