I work within the business application support team, my day to day involves me solving any application support issues that occur to the business side of the organization. I am also responsible for the data collection on our team.
All of my technical skills regarding systems such as Unix and the SQL query language have improved because of the tasks that are being assigned to me in my role. I have improved my knowledge of a number of Microsoft applications through both internal and external training. Also my knowledge of networking and cloud services has improved.
I very much enjoy the program, the team is great and have me feel welcome, they have been training since day one. The company culture is one that aids in the development of employees.
I have began to see how I am contributing to the team and how my work is playing a part in our achieving both the teams goals and my individual goals. UBS has allowed me to meet senior managers and ask them questions, this has been a very useful for my own development.
The course is structured well, I know what internal and external training I have to complete. I know what is expected of me within my role as an apprentice.
The training provider supports us on any issue we are having. This include both with the learning and any internal company issues. This means it is quite easy to have any issues resolve as soon as they appear.
The employer has also been supporting me in my role, they understand the balance between work and study which has allowed to progress to the point I am in the program.
Living in London the cost of living are quite high so I can be difficult sometimes, however the salary does meet the costs if you budget your money correctly.
There are many opportunities outside of work to network with many different people within the organization. UBS also offers all employees two days off in the year for ant volunteering they wish to take part in.
