Trainne Tax advidsor. Involved in variety of corporate tax project including tax audits, preparing tax provision, tax complaiance and advisory work. On a day to day basis I tend to work on various types of projects on a variety of clients.
As well as the tax technical training courses and studying for the ACA, I've alos learnt how to transfer these skills and this learnt at school into the working environment.
I feel like there is a heavy push towards recruiting more school leavers in the future and as a result there is a lot of support in place to help us settle in.
THe programme seems very well organised alhtough there does still seem to be some doubt as to what exams we will be taking from our 3rd year onwards and clarification of this owuld be nice, though does not bother me as I'm confident that the firm will ensure that the exams are relevant and will also help me in my future.
During college, the teachers were always on hand to answer any email queries and, after I failed my first exam, extra one on one tuition was arraged for everyone so we could doscuss any problems we were having with the work, which helped immensly. In terms of the firms internal training, the teachers were always happy to stay later if you had any queries and are also happy to help when you are in the offiice working and not even on a course at the time.
I was assigned a buddy and a councellor when I started in the firm and both have been very helpful in terms of helping me settle in and are always on hand for a chat if I have any questions.
I feel that my position is well embursed and represent s the cost of living in London compared ot another part of the UK. Support such as the season ticket loan makes travel costs much cheaper.
There are plenty of team socials and psorts events organised by my team, as well as firm wide events organised as well.
Yes
Really enjoying work at the moment and have settled in extremely quickly, despite moving into a totally new environment.
Just relax in terms of the enterance exams and make sure that you try to put the nerves out of your head. Making every efort to connect with your interviewer as well, which is something I feel helps your application.
