I work in the Asset Creation department at Severn Trent working on Sewer Flooding projects in the east midlands. My day to day job involves using computer models to build up hydraulic models of sewerage systems and this incorporates a lot of civil engineering skills
YEs, I have developed a knowledge of the water industry, in particular waste water. Whilst also developing necessary civil engineering knowledge through college
I enjoy the work at severn trent and is equally rewarding and challenging
I feel valued by both my line manager, team and also the Apprentices team.
The programme appears to be still in its infancy, with this only being the second year of intake of the higher engineering programme. this often casts doubt on the future of the programme as well as the third part organisation that organises training and education for Severn trent's apprentices, EEF, are sub-par at best in their organisation and comunication
a moderate amount of support is given from EEF, who organise the training for Severn Trents apprentices. However the college I attend, Wolverhampton, we have a good tutor who is very knowledgeable and supportive.
Support from Severn Trent is second to none really they are flexible in terms of working life as well as proactive in engaging apprentices in new projects and plenty of additional training
The Salary is good for the first year however the increases as you progress through the programme are not made clear and therefore casts doubt on this.
Yes, voluntary opportunities are abundant throughout Severn Trent
Yes
