Going out to different sites and areas every day carrying out various tasks such as repairing and maintaining columns/lanterns, fitting out new lanterns onto columns and installing earth blocks and isolators onto the backboard of the column. Removing old columns using the crane on our HIAB vehicles and then fitting new ones in and jointing.
I’ve learnt stacks & stacks of new information since working here. Especially in the maintenance and installation side of the role.
I am very happy with my job and I genuinely enjoy going to work.
I feel valued even though I’m not as experienced as most of my colleagues which is great!
The programme is structured well and professionally.
We have emails from our training provider on a regular basis providing information such as course dates etc.
We receive plenty of support from our employer. Given high quality personal Protective equipment, tools, etc.
At the moment my salary isn’t amazing but I’m still training. I know what the wage is when fully qualified and I’d be very happy with that.
I haven’t really looked as I’m happy with my job and don’t feel the need to look for other working opportunities.
Yes
It’s an enjoyable job on a good salary when qualified. You’re in new places every single day performing various tasks so every day is different
Take the application process seriously even if it is long winded, it is worth it in the end.
