I am a Technical apprentice, currently I am at college studying an NVQ level 2 and 3 in mechanical engineering, generally day to day I will be in a workshop learning different skills preparing me for working within Siemens, I will also be completing assignment within level 3, ranging from drawing/CAD to engineering principles as well as various engineering subjects preparing me for my technical role within the company.
I have learnt many new skills involving hand fitting as well as using different types of tools that i didn't use previously, as well as becoming comfortable with machinery and the health and safety within a workshop enviroment
I really enjoy the programme i am currently on as it teaches me new skills as well as developing skills i had before, it allows me to understand the basics of workin within engineering based workshops and environments
I feel very valued within Siemens, some older and younger employees help you to learn skills as well as to mentor you through different processes. The company gives you different benefits involving out of work activities as well helping me out with any issues i may encounter out and inside if siemens
I believe the structure of the programme is well put together and allows me to understand different areas of engineering as well as learn new skills effectively so i remember them and can use them when working
I receive as much support as i require, any queries i gave get sorted almost instantly depending on the extent of the problem. These are always solved instantly and therefore no problems arise generally throughout my apprenticeship
As above
For my age the salary i receive is very good and therefore encounter no problems when meeting my costs due to the lack of them currently
There are multiple opportunities out side of work with the subject i am currently studying
Yes
It is a great experience where you achieve qualification required for you to get further within engineering, whilst earning a wage of a perfectly adequate amount for most ages, it gives you many opportunities for a better career within the future
None
