My role differs depending on my placement at the time, so can vary between CNC machinist on different types of machines (grinding, turning or milling) or different types of fitting (build, casings, rotors etc.
Yes I have learnt how to operate various CNC machines throughout the factory and have developed my fitting skills from working on different types of Gas Turbines. I have also gained new qualifications such as my BTEC Level 3 and NVQ Level 2 & 3.
I enjoy it as I am working on something new every day and developing my skills as new jobs come and go, and working with people that I get along with and can easily learn from.
All of them managers I have worked under have shown me great respect and taught me valuable skills as an apprentice.
The programme I am under is well structured and easily understandable. also, if there was anything I didn't understand all NVQ Assessors where at hand to help me with any issues
A fair amount of support is provided.
HR team are easy to communicate with and are very helpful when there is an issue raised.
Very well.
There are always opportunities outside of work, such as work fares to promote the company and encourage new people to join the apprenticeship.
Yes
Because it has widened my engineering knowledge and has helped me grow as an employee.
To apply as soon as possible and to do your best at each stage of the process. If unsuccessful the first time (as I was), to go away and widen your knowledge and try again each year.
