As a Apprentice Procurement Engineer, my daily tasks, projects and responsibilities which are completed daily and weekly include buffer stock report, work to lists, stock updates, supplier monthly business review packs and then writing up the meeting actions, RFQ's, Invoices and Price Maintaining and Silverbacks. As well as Daily interactions with several different customers and suppliers both internally and externally.
I have complete NVQ Level 3 in Business & Administration. Technical Certificate in Business & Administration. NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service. Technical Certificate in Customer Service. Advanced Excel Module of ECDL. Level 3 Project Management Qualification. Key Skills / Fuctional Skills Level 2. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).
I really enjoy the prgramme. The teams and overall company culture have been fantastic and supportive with my personal and work developments.
Very valued by Managers, Collegues, and Suppliers. They constantly involve you in different tasks in order to make you feel part of the team as soon as you join.
The programme is very well structered. You have 4 placements which are 16 weeks long in 4 seprate areas of the business. Mine where with 3 different Procurement teams and 1 Commercial team in order to gain Commerical experience. You then complete a Final 16 week placement in one of the Placements you have previously been in. Whilst completing these placement you also complete your Further Education and NVQ. For the Further Education you are given a one day release from site to attend college at Preston Training School.
There is alot of support given to you by your assessor.
There is plenty of support given to you by your manager, assessor, mentor and collegues. With everyone happy to support you with whatever problems you occur.
Very well paid Salary.
There are several different opportunites to get involved with outside of work. I was involved in RIAT, Supporting the Apprentice Presentation Evening and the Manifacturing Conference
