NVQ Level 3 Technical Services City & Guilds 2675 Aircraft Maintenance Part M fleet management skills
Year 1 was enjoyable, although the pressure to perform immediately in disciplines that you had never attempted before was difficult. Year 2 was good, but felt cut off from AMA
Recognition from the company is good with the "Above and Beyond" scheme. Also, apprentice of the year awards and formal graduation leaves a satisfying feeling of being valued and of recognition.
Organisation of the course needs improvement. Communications from the academy can be scarce and inaccurate.
Needed on-site NVQ assessor. 1-2 hours every month was NOT enough. The distance led to communications issues and strained relationships.
Yr 2: On site management was excellent. Minimal contact from the AMA left me feeling that I had been cut off from the AMA.
Excellent salary for an apprenticeship, especially when compared to competitors.
The company can offer extracurricular activities (ie: sports and charity events)
Yes
Fairly good job security and good salary compared to competitors.
Be yourself, ask as many questions as possible, be flexible.
