Within my role I perform maintenance tasks on machines to ensure that they stay online and in use for production. My job is to attend breakdowns and perform routine maintenance where appropriate
Over the last 2 years within the business I have learnt a lot of new skills that I can take forward into my future career. Many training courses have been provided to assist in my learning.
I enjoy the apprenticeship programme very much as it has helped me develop a lot of unknown skills and to better myself and I am always encouraged to keep learning and developing myself. this means I enjoy the programme a lot and enjoy coming to work everyday
I feel extremely valued and part of the BAE team. I love coming into work and finding out what I'm going to be doing for the day. every day provides a new challenge and I can't wait to start my full time career here
the course is well structured and provides a good learning outcome. some parts could be improved such as communication amongst apprentices and assessors about targets and goals, but I am pushed to work hard and develop myself all the time which is good.
the training provider provides a lot of good support to help me through my apprenticeship and I do get help when required if I am finding something difficult. as mentioned above communication could be improved regarding where I am target wise and how close I am to achieving but overall good.
my employer provides a lot of support and gets me involved with everything relevant to my job role. I am put on a lot of training courses and am gaining a lot of licences to drive certain equipment and operate in certain environments. I am always pushed to do well and to keep learning within my workplace
My wage for an apprentice is extremely good. we are paid very well by my employer and this means I can afford to live and save up for future investments like a house. travel time is half an hour so fuel costs me a lot but this is easily coped with by the wage I'm paid from my company
there are a lot of extra curricular activites that I could partake in as part of the apprenticeship scheme. there are a lot of social clubs that meet on a regular basis around site for things people may be interested in. apprentice events are held quite regularly for us to get together and work as a team
Yes
this is a great company to work for and the pay is extremely good for an apprentice. job security is also good here and the training provided is second to none. if any help is required I can soon find it from somebody within the company and I am always pushed to do my best no matter what.
the application process can take a long time to get right so take your time answering all the interview questions online as this is what gets you noticed in the first place. conduct yourself well in the interview as there are a lot of applicants that also want the same position as yourself and places are tightly contested so you need to make yourself shine out from the rest.
