  • Electrical building services, using cad, Dialux and Amtech. Working on moray firth and triton knoll offshore wind projects.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Currently completing a NVQ lv4 in engineering. completed PEO lv2 at college. have been on external courses for inventor and Revit. have been given training on Dialux and Amtech by work colleagues.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the work that I am doing and feel part of the team. I have been given lots of opportunities and have learnt a lot over the past 3 years.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Siemens?
  • I feel I am a valued member of the team. I have been shown appreciation and recognition for the recent Dialux work which I have completed.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • my apprenticeship programme has been reasonably well structured, however I feel that the NVQ I am currently doing could be improved upon.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive minimal support for my NVQ lv4 however I feel this is because I work in Manchester and the training provider is in Newcastle.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive plenty of support in work from my mentor who is always happy to give help and guidance when needed.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I currently live with parents so salary is ok, however if I were to live on my own I feel I would struggle.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • lots of opportunities outside of work I have recently completed a 10km obstacle course with work colleagues.

  • Yes

  • I have had a lot of opportunities and learnt plenty of new skills.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • Do some research about the company and the position which you are applying for. Be well prepared for interview
