Technician Apprentice. Been trained on several different sections. 3 days a week are more hands on work and the 4th day is for college.
Worked on CAD software as well as learning how to set up 3d printers. On electrical and fitting sections we have been taught lots of new practical skills that we can take throughout our career
I really enjoy this programme. I moved from far away and feel as though I have been welcomed into the company. I've made some good friends that I will have for years to come as well as having the opportunity to work in a sector that I have always been interested
There is a large amount of attention paid to us as learners and feel as though as we are being pushed to improve ourselves constantly
There are clear deadlines and timetable set out on which work needs to be completed.
Help is provided at a good level in general and if you have any questions the trainers will no hesitate to go through it all with you.
There are systems in place such as the buddy system that have been useful in helping me adapt to living far away from home. I feel comfortable at work and enjoy to whole programme as a result.
This is definitely one of the better paying apprenticeships.
There a lots of clubs available. Charity events that are supported by the company; Choirs that consist of the company's employees. There is a gym at the site I am so you can exercise in your free time if that is what you'd like to do.
Yes
I have been really surprised at the types of opportunities that have been presented to me since starting my apprenticeship.
Have an interest in science and mathematics. It will make adapting to the work a lot easier. The interview process is very formal as the company expects a certain level of professionalism.
