  • Aircraft fitting, various sub assemblies on aircraft, working with various adhesives, fasteners, and preparing the product for the customer

  • Improved knowledge on aircraft fitting, completed level 3 BTEC in Aeronautical Engineering,

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • In terms of previous jobs I have been in prior to working at BAE Systems, the Apprenticeship programme which follows on to a permanent contract after my apprenticeship is certainly the best decision I've made in terms of career path and prospects

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BAE Systems?
  • The levels of support within the training centre and within all the separate businesses on site are second to non, any issues are accepted and sorted usually within a few days, if further knowledge is required, it is found in a short period of time.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Everything is organised in terms of required work, the NVQ modules are set out and all required work is explained.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Any queries are answered from my assessor, and help is given with any things I'm not sure about

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The onsite support is brilliant, they have been understanding with the fact I am an apprentice learning the job, and allocate me all the help I need.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is competitive and covers all my required costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many opportunities to help outside of work, with various charity events supporting the companies designated charity

  • 9. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Earn while you learn, no fee's and you get the training you require and get paid to do it, personally, it isn't even questionable to compare this to a university course.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Ensure that you keep on top of your STEM knowledge due to the college courses require you to be aware of mathematics and physics etc.
