I am a Business Management Apprentice working within the procurement function at BAES. I work within airframe. Some of my current daily tasks are to access online data that provides an update on part delivery status. Another one of my tasks during the week are to update team boards in preparation for desums. I interact with my manager and my team on a daily basis. alongside my daily tasks, I must also complete my knowledge based questions that go towards my NVQ.
yes, I have been provided with extensive training. I have attended tours of different sites too and I have learnt product based knowledge, system based knowledge and general knowledge during 6 months at BAES
I am enjoying my programme so much more than I expected to. I have been given numerous opportunities to represent the company and it went above and beyond my expectations. I receive feedback often on my performance which I appreciate as I am able to reflect
I do feel that I am able to work independently. the tasks in which I have been given, I am able to get along with them and am given recognition when the performance of the task is positive
I have never been disappointed with the training and support provided from my assessors. the programme was well organised and was well explained to us. we weren't just thrown on the job and I am aware that I have someone to approach if I am struggling with anything
There is constant support when it is required
A high volume of support
coming from college into an apprenticeship was the wisest move I have made. it is a well paid apprenticeship and I feel I am able to enjoy my social life due to this
there are many opportunities off site where we as apprentices are able to participate. there is an upcoming German Exchange that I will be partaking along with a group of 10 others.
Yes
It is the perfect move. especially as a school leaver
the application process is hard but stay keen, do not give up!
