Project Management Apprenticeship, which I am currently working on a risk team in dreadnought. Within this place I update and create risks which fall within a risk register. I attend risk meetings where I collect data and update it. I also partake in stretch activity's such as off sight open day where I represent both Bae and stem to schools. I also go to university one day a week.
The new skills which I feel I have achieved through my apprenticeship is : Increased confidence- I feel that by moving through different placements and getting a lot of experience through many different areas of the business has helped me to mature and become more confident. I also am undertaking a foundation degree in project management where I feel has helped me greatly to understand the principles of project management.
I really enjoy both my job and my college. Within work I move placements every four months which I feel has helped me get exposure to different types of people and different working styles. I also attend Blackpool and the Fylde college in which go every Tuesday and I feel has helped me create relationships within the other apprentices on my scheme.
I feel very valued by BAE Systems; I feel that they put a lot of effort and support into all apprentices. I feel that they provide support when needed though let you use your initiative and be a member of a team which I find helps me prepare for being in a full time role.
I feel that my scheme is very structured. There is a clear 4 month placement structure based upon competencies and areas of interest. College is also every Tuesdays o there isn’t confusion if we have it or not. There are also talks from early careers every month and a quarterly meeting which is very helpful.
I feel that there is a lot of support provided by early careers. There is very clear lines of communication for specific issues and advice which I find helpful. As well as having different people to talk to allows me to feel that I can speak to the people I need about the relevant topics.
I feel my manager gives us the correct amount of support- Being able to talk to her about any issue if we need but are also trusted to work on our own. Which I feel is helpful for our development. I feel my mentor is very helpful and can provide me on help and guidance form a out of my department area which I find helpful.
I feel that the salary is very good especially for my age. I feel that the company helps a lot with extracurricular such as travel to stretch assignments and providing transport to university if needed. I also feel that it is a good system in how we get a pay rise as it reviews everything in which we have done.
yes there is company events such as a pm conference and stretch assignments in which we take part with in out apprenticeship
Yes
I feel that it is a good scheme and can develop you as a person greatly. and gives you opportunities and responsibility's in which I normally wouldn't get if I had a normal job. I feel that there is many different career paths which I thing can give many opportunities.
review your application a lot before submitting and always go prepared to the interview because it is hard.
