Being a mechanical maintenance apprentice means I have to repair any machinery or any breakages on the sewage treatment works in my area.
Yes i have learnt a lot of new skills already, many of these being practical and all of the skills being transferable to one's that i can use every day. My knowledge of tooling and why machinery works the way it does has improved a lot.
I enjoy the program a great deal as when I'm working on site there are always new jobs to do, every day is different to the next and every site is different to one another. No two days are tedious so the new challenges are what excite me.
I feel extremely valued,I feel that my views are valued and my concerns are taken very seriously and acted upon.
My program is very structured and i am always busy when at college however as with everything, it could be improved in some areas to save time for the company and myself.
There is always someone on hand to help and I'm never left in the dark about anything I do. The support in place is fantastic.
I receive a lot of support when on site as I am always with 2 or more people when at Work, this means I have great amount of knowledge surrounding me, there are always people who want to help me push myself and who allow me to try new things and see different parts of the business.
I have no problems making my salary meet my costs especially when my accommodation and meals are paid for while at college.
Yes there are.
Yes
As they will feel like a valued employee from the get go and there's a number of different pathways they can take depending on how they work best. They will always be able to have the chance to move around once at Work, if they do not enjoy what they're doing or they want a new challenge.
Listen to what is asked of you and take on every bit of information given to you.
