Secondary engineering, Placements in all departments, it involves a mixture of college, NVQ and work from Siemens. Mainly work from the department that I am currently in. Depending on the job given, the responsibility varies.
I feel that I have developed many different skills during my apprenticeship. I have already achieved 3 PEOs, and am completing a HNC and NVQ. I have done a number of internal training courses. My communication skills have greatly improved.
I do enjoy my programme, I feel it helps develop me at a good pace. The people I work with in Siemens are very helpful and nice to work with.
I feel very valued by Siemens, when I am given a job. However I am still an apprentice so sometimes there are blank periods.
My programme went off course quite early on, so required a re structure. It is now back on track.
I receive any support that I need from Siemens, if help is needed with anything there is always someone to ask.
I receive any support that I need from Siemens, if help is needed with anything there is always someone to ask. My manager and mentors are all very supportive and encouraging.
My salary is enough to get by on, however it is a lot of work, and I'm still living with parents. Therefore if you were to be a new property buyer, or own a property, it may not be substantial enough.
The company offers a lot of extra curricular activities that employees can take part in. Including charity events and some sporting events. It also offers walks at dinner and some fitness classes.
Yes
Overall they offer in my opinion one of the most advanced and beneficial apprenticeship schemes around. They also have a system where you can choose your final location depending on what you want to do, so they offer good choice.
When applying for Siemens its good to have a it of experience, and be confident, as you often have to deal with problems, and need to make a good impression.
