This apprenticeship involves learning the knowledge and training the skills to become a controls system engineer. The first year is spent studying at college for an engineering foundation level 2 and several units of an electrical engineering HND qualification. The lecturers at the college are usually helpful and amazon managers always provide support when required. Following years are spent in the workplace at an Amazon FC with block release to achieve the academic and training requirements.
In the first year, you learn how to perform basic engineering tasks, such as hand fitting and electrical wiring; as well as, basic electrical engineering theory, such as DC and AC circuit theory and mathematics.
I really enjoy this programme because I always wanted to become an engineer and learn the set of skills required to apply science in the real world by making devices and equipment that help us and improve our living standards. This programme allows you to build strong work ethic and learn to work in teams.
Amazon is a great company that is customer-centric and at the same time looks after everyone of its employees.
The programme is well structured but still has some issues because it is the first year Amazon is taking on a degree apprenticeship. Siemens is the training provider and the first year is spent in Trafford college that has not yet organised the engineering foundations level 2 due to the management problems at the college.
The training provider, Siemens, is always available to help and solve any issues at any time.
The employer, Amazon, is always accessible and the attitudes towards us are positive to guide us through the apprenticeship.
The salary is premium and the benefit package is oustanding.
The are many opportunities to have fun and pursue hobbies after a day in the workplace or college with such a salary.
Yes
Great opportunity that leads to a fulfilling career that pays well and is very interesting for anyone that enjoys engineering.
Apply and try your best.
