Working as a software engineer, taking part in daily stand-up calls, and being involved in the design and development of an internal product for administration where I was given a large amount of responsibility.
Gained 2 City and Guilds Level 4 Qualifications. Taken part in a variety of training courses as part of my apprenticeship. Have developed both technically and personally through my experiences with work and colleagues.
Work is enjoyable and has remained challenging allowing me to continue to develop at the right pace. Great team and company culture. Exceeded my expectations
Always shown appreciation by other colleagues and management. Given a large amount of responsibility from the beginning of my apprenticeship, having been involved in
Training and assessments were well put together. Assignments and marking from apprenticeship provider were poorly organised as well as problems with 2 of my assessors leaving during my apprenticeship resulting in a large backlog of marking near the end of my apprenticeship that resulted in more work required in a short space of time.
Good support provided by my first assessor, cannot say the same for the last 2 assessors. Poor organisation and communication, often missing emails or not responding, as well as missing face-to-face meetings for various reasons.
I always feel I can ask managers questions both on a work and personal level. HR is easy to contact through an online ticket system. We are assigned a career mentor that helps with questions on developing and progressing your career.
Travel cost is my main expense having to commute a fair distance into the office, however have the ability to work from home. Travel costs for training were covered by expenses.
Social events within the company that are setup by members of the business. Sports teams and events where CGI competes internally and against other companies.
Yes
Great company to work for with good career prospects. Training courses encouraged by management so always opportunities to develop your skills.
Application process and interviews were well organised where I felt I was given a fair opportunity to display my worth, along with the assessment centre. Training provider had some problems that mainly came from the assessors. If you have any problems with them go straight to their management and you may find these problems can be fixed. Was a shame as the training courses provided were great.
