Before joining my new role, during my apprenticeship I was a technical support analyst on the service desk, supporting users on the Taylor Wimpey contract. I would receive phone calls from these users with issue with their computers/laptops/tablets etc. I would fix theses issues first line (office 365, coding, rebuilding of profiles etc)
I have gained 3 Microsoft Level 3 Network Technician qualifications. (MTA Cloud, MTA Networking Fundamentals and MTA Mobility and Device Fundamentals) I have learnt many new skills when it comes to fixing IT issues first line. Developed excellent customer facing and customer service skills
I thoroughly enjoyed my programme. My apprenticeship has gotten me into a new role within 18 months of joining the company. Its also got me put in as a finalist for the WCCF Awards in Cardiff.
I feel very valued. I feel that CGI have supported me in everything that I have come across, including all the challenges and obstacles that came in my way. I was even honoured to be a finalist for the WCCF Awards also.
From the induction right up to the final exam course, I feel that the apprenticeship programme was very organised and also very well structured. The training we received was very informative and well organised. the only obstacle that we faced was that the apprenticeship support company did not communicate well with CGI when needed. I always had people to go to for support when needed and the company supported me also.
we received a lot of support from the training providers with nearly all of the trainers but one trainer did not provide lot of guidance or support when it came to course prep and exam. Overall the support I received was good. I know who I had to go to and I did receive the support I needed.
I had a lot of support from CGI itself, especially recruitment who helped me out in a number of ways. especially when I didn't pass one of my exams first time, they supported me and helped me sit the exam again and I did pass that time.
My salary covers my car upkeep, car insurance, rent at home (whilst living with parents) travelling too and from work. Covers everything I need.
Yes there was one opportunity for me with the apprenticeship and that was to attend the Welsh Contact Centre Forum awards in March 2018. I was honoured to be a finalist there and the event was spectacular. I attended the event with a few members of CGI from the service desk who helped me achieve what I did.
