  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am responsible for tasks assigned to me by my placement manager, all tasks are assigned because they are Project Management related and demonstrate key skills.

    9/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My inter personal skills have developed substantially and specific project management skills are developing at a good rate

    10/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program a lot except for the early mornings on uni days!

    9/10

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BAE Systems?
  • Very valued, they are willing to invest in your future if you are willing to put the work in and ask. Occasionally you do get some resistance or people being stubborn and grumpy

    8/10

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Quite well structured but there is room for improvement and early careers are working on this.

    6/10

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • A lot, always available via email and we can book 1 to 1 sessions when needed to get support. Occasionally they are unable to provide information but there is always a valid reason why (eg Lancaster uni telling them there not allowed to help on the structure of exam questions)

    10/10

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot, both in terms of academic support and support for my severely reduced vision. There is some room for improvement as they are very slow sometimes.

    8/10

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Very well but people that work up north have a lot more spare money than people who work in the south due to salaries not reflecting living costs. (some second year people on my course already own there own home)

    10/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes! APM conferences, stretch activities, charity events, STEM work and company events

    10/10

  • 9. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a great opportunity to get a degree debt free with a good salary

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Be yourself and don't get scared in the assessment centers. You're good enough to make it through to that stage so you'll probably get a job
