My most recent role involves being a support to test teams. It involves analysing, creating, modifying and executing problems raised from test teams.
I graduated with First Class Honours from the Sponsored Degree Programme. As well as gaining an Apprenticeship. I have gained a number of skills especially communication skills and recently I have gained a number of technical skills.
I enjoy most aspects of the programme. I like the way CGI works and I very much enjoyed the Programme. I do enjoy all the roles I have been involved in however they are challenging at times. Everyone in CGI is approachable and I like how they want younger people to aspire.
I do feel like I am valued to a certain degree. When I was involved in the charity ambassador work we were given a bonus and recognition from head of the BU. However, in my role I do not feel I am always valued.
The programme is really well organised. We always knew what days we were required at university and the modules we would be undertaking. All the books were organised for us. The leader of the programme is approachable and always willing to discuss any queries and problems. I always felt supported.
The training provider was a smaller part of the Degree Programme as our apprenticeship. We had meetings regularly and we were given a contact e-mail in case we had any queries.
I received a lot of support from my employer. We were given Work Based Studies mentors who were willing to discuss and read university work as well as having weekly calls. They also made it accessible for us to have access to documents we may need.
I think for our age our salary is very reasonable. I feel like CGI have tried for us to have the salary which matches other competitors and to suit our skill sets.
There are lots of opportunities. There is a Sports and Social Club which I am part of which means I get access to a number of events which are normally free including theatre trips, meals and sports events. We also get the change to get involved in charity work, which I have also been involved with.
Yes
I think CGI is a good company for young people. There are a number of opportunities and you are you stuck in the same role. There is opportunities to be able to move around roles as well as locations. Everyone is approachable and supportive as well.
Be yourself in the interview process and make sure you support questions with examples where applicable to show how you have that skill and how it could be put into the work place.
