I work in railway design as an assistant designer. My typical day consists of working alongside colleagues to complete tasks as well as completing my own tasks independently. All this is working towards achieving the necessary license to become a designer.
BTEC in Electrical/Electronics. MOD 5 Signal Testing - Pass. Basic Signalling Training - Pass. Learned how to integrate into a new environment well and learning skills that are applicable to my role.
I enjoy my apprenticeship as it has allowed me to begin my career with a fantastic company whilst also attend college and further my engineering knowledge... all while being paid!
Siemens makes me feel valued as there is a positive atmosphere and a team spirit; nobody overpowers anyone else and everyone interacts well. All in all, it makes for an enjoyable office.
My programme is well structured and there are plenty of opportunities to attend training courses and college.
My training provider is very supportive, however there is a collective support from all my colleagues; even if someone is not my mentor they are still willing to give me some of there time to help.
My employer is also very supportive, always making sure I have work to be getting on with and regularly conversing with me to see how I am.
Very well indeed.
Siemens is very active outside of work; after-work socials, community volunteering, external training etc.
Yes
For me, Siemens seems like the complete company; incredibly profitable, good ethics, high standards, focused approach to safety.
You are applying for a job that you think you are capable of. Therefore, you have to be yourself and be confident as the interviewing process is only marginally about grades and experience... if you have the character and personality, your potential will become obvious to Siemens.
