At Dunscroft, my main role is accounts payable. Day to day I deal with ordering and hiring of equipment, control the company credit card and process supplier invoices. At Immingham I deal with all of the accounts including all month end processes. This includes, sales invoices, depreciation, reallocation of costs and revenue etc.
Since starting level 4 I am now part of the month end process so all my existing skills have developed and new knowledge I have learnt at college has been developed as it is now included in my day to day activities.
I really enjoy my programme, especially the team I work with both in work and at college. I also enjoy the content of the programme.
I feel valued by Costain, my line manager ensures I have the necessary help in place but also lets me take on new responsibilities.
My programme is well organised, I attend college on day release once a week and have exams after each module. My tutors at college offer good support.
We are expected to get on with work ourselves and sometimes it can be difficult to get in touch with college when we need help regarding something non work related (e.g. exams / the portfolio we need to do etc.)
My team offer good support. My line managers helps me if I have any questions and offers guidance on how to do new things differently or better.
I think I am offered a good salary compared to other non Costain apprentices.
I do not attend any company related activities out of work.
Yes
They offer a great apprenticeship package and are keen to help you gain more qualifications during your time here.
Make sure to mention any experience you may have - even if you have just left school there are still lots of things you can mention (e.g. prefect at school / mentor / any volunteer work you did)
