Working currently as a Project Controller. Daily tasks are set by placement manager who is someone with a lot of project management knowledge to aid in our scheme. Working on schedules and communication to internal teams as well as customers.
Learnt new skills as well as developed existing. External APM course is provided to give an external, recognised qualification.
Enjoy the programme as it is a great placement and allows you to work with multiple teams. The company has a strong sence of its employees and treats everyone with equal opportunities.
Very valued as everyone is there to support you.
The structure of the programme is well organised as it has been improved year after year. Right from the word go you have a view of where you are heading, and the paths to get there.
Training provider offeres support each week on delivery sessions as well as the ability to book 1 to 1 sessions. There is also a dedicated team to help with anything related to the course.
As well as having a placement manager to guide you, you are also allocated a mentor and a buddy system is in place for the initial start period. There is alway access to guidance and support.
Salary meets my living costs well. All legitimate business expenditure can be claimed back and the secondment package covers this without worrying.
There is an opportunity to become a STEM ambassador to support local schools and colleges as well as other opportunities which I am yet to discover.
Yes
It is a great company to work for, and they support the full apprenticeship with support and guidance. You are working towards a degree without any debt or costs to yourself and a good salary.
Although the application process may seem to take a while, it is worth it. There are a few stages which enable the best to be offered placements but it pays off after you are offered the job. The assessment centre as part of the applciation can seem scary but the key message I took was to be yourself and enjoy it as this will shine through.
