I am a software developer apprentice. My role involves carrying out various tasks within a project, such as testing and implementing logic into a code base.
I have learnt how to create unit tests and my problem solving skills have been enhanced
I enjoy my programme because I am learning a large amount, in such a short space of time. I have managed to integrate well within my team too.
I feel extremely valued as I am part of a minority here in London, and I have received internal and external recognition and appreciation for my work here at TFL.
The programme that I am doing is relatively organised. However, there was a couple of hinders with the learning provider, but TFL have consistently been organised.
I would say that I received enough support from my training provider, because I had encountered some personal issues at home, and the training provider was very understanding during the circumstances.
I received a large amount of support from my employer, especially my manager. My manager has been particularly helpful when guiding me through any problems I had.
My salary/ package has greatly met my costs, because you get free travel along certain zones, for yourself and a family member. The location is in an ideal area too, as I am based in a central area.
There is always an abundance of opportunities outside of work such as networking events, learning and development sessions. These opportunities are a great way to get to know people across TFL.
Yes
I would recommend TFL because it is a fantastic company to work for. The employees here are very diverse. The career prospects are amazing too, as there are endless opportunities. In addition, TFL are extremely supportive in regards to any issues you may have. When you work for TFL, you are provided with a host of benefits, like free travel.
I would suggest to anyone applying for TFL to read up as much as you can about them, and ensure that you are passionate about the path that you have chosen. This would make your start up with TFL less difficult. Utilise any opportunities sent your way, as they will definitely help your development process.
