My role is to train to be a full time Customer Service Engineer which is accomplished day to day by learning from mentors and engineers but to also put yourself out of the comfort zone and to start taking responsibility for jobs.
I have learnt many new skills both in college and with SIEMENS through the training courses. Firstly with college I feel I have gained plenty of knowledge that will be useful in my later work life. Also with the SIEMENS training I have learnt how to repair and maintain some point of care, blood has analysers.
I really enjoy my SIEMENS healthineers apprenticeship programme as it’s strongly formatted, so your goals are layed out for you but you are given a free rein to try and achieve those goals while being supported by the company.
As I complete more and more training courses I feel I’m becoming a more valued part of the team as I can start to help my fellow engineers out in the field.
This Siemens healthineers apprenticeship programme is structured very well as the goals are set right at the very beginning and the different steps/footholes that can be used to help achieve these goals.
In terms of support from the training provider I think enough training is provided but apprentices should be made more are aware on non-mandatory training courses that may be actually very helpful for them.
I am completely satisfied with support from my employer.
As an apprentice I feel the wages are adequate for my costs.
I’m sure there are many opportunities outside of work but I don’t feel I have been made aware of many.
