I thoroughly enjoy working in my current department of NPD. The team I am with are very supportive, knowledgeable and approachable. I enjoy helping staff with tasks because it gives me insight on what I need to be like, and what I need to learn/improve on to be at their level.
I feel I am valued by the people I immediately work with because they involve me and think about where it's appropriate for me to do certain things as it will be useful in the future. It's nice to have recognition and appreciation from the team leader and feedback from other members of staff.
The initial apprenticeship structure wasn't very organized but that was a result of redundancies which left everyone in an awkward situation.
The college will support where necessary and I enjoy learning.
My department is very supportive with mentoring.
Compared to other businesses, the salary is lower, but that does not mean it's insufficient. The salary of the employees was increased by 1.5% to help meet the inflation rates, but as apprentices we didn't get a pay raise.
STEM is a very popular opportunity to take part in at local schools and activities occur every other week.
