I am a mechanical craft apprentice. I do CNC machining manual machining and fitting in the factory, this involves using lathes and milling machines it also involves repairing building and stripping parts. I work with a qualified technician and have to record some work to put into a NVQ.
I believe I have developed a good base knowledge of CNC programming hand fitting and machining techniques. I have already achieved a NVQ level 2 and Btec subsidiary diploma and currently working to achieve a HNC in mechanical engineering and a NVQ level 3.
The company gives you adequate time to complete any collage work and are they give you lots of opportunities to complete extra courses and further your education.
The managers meet with us every other month to see our progress and are always available if we have any issues.
The course follows a very well planned out structure so that everyone on the course can follow it with ease and know what is expected of them.

I am currently able to save some money every month after all my expenses are paid so I believe it meets costs well
The company goes to many event to get young people into engineering, such as careers fairs and other fairs hosted by schools, they offer open days to show people round the factory and run a large amount of courses to help train new employees.

I believe they are a good company to work for as they offer many opportunities to further your self and gain more qualifications.
