Engineering Higher Apprentice. During the scheme, you get the opportunity to experience lots of different functions in the business. My first placement was in the QEC team. This team was responsible for maintaining, planning and managing everything to do with the new Aircraft carrier. I had the great opportunity of going on-board the aircraft carrier with maintenance engineers and learning all about how the ship works and was designed.
Yes, throughout the scheme, I have been involved in studying towards both my HNC and also my HND. this will then help me to progress my studying and enable me to earn my BSc in a subject of my liking.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my programme so far. The team that I have been set to work with have been very friendly and welcoming. Everyone in the office is always willing to help if I have any issues and the studying ontop of the work is also going very well.
I feel very highly valued during my time within the business so far. they have brilliant benefits for their apprentices and I cannot fault how we have been treated.
There has been some confusion recently as our manager has been on maternity leave, however the person covering our manager has done a very good job given the circumstances. We have now lost the opportunity to fully choose which placements we go on and I would say that this process has been quite badly organised.
We receive lots of support from the training provider and they are always available for a chat if there are any issues.
Again, we receive lots of support from the employer. in any circumstances, weather its personal, financial or anything in-between, I feel as though I will be kept safe within BAE systems.
The salary package we are working towards is a very competitive salary and is a brilliant incentive to bring the best to BAE systems.
There are a few sports teams that are organised through BAE systems however, when I joined the business, these teams weren't brought to my attention. It was only after speaking to different people around the business I learnt the availability of some of these teams.
Yes
Brilliant company with great benefits and a highly competitive salary.
Accept as many opportunities as you can during your time within the business. there is so much to learn and so much to experience so just take every opportunity given to you.
