I am a commercial banking assistant, I take tasks from three Commercial relationship managers and change/update customer information, create easier ways of logging communication with customers and communicate with customers on my managers behalf.
Yes I have gained the professional banking certificate, learnt how to use bank systems and learnt a lot about the products we offer.
I enjoy the responsibility I am given and the team I work with, sometimes the work isn't challenging enough and is actually very repetitive.
I feel incredibly valued by RBS as I was off with long term sickness for a while and my line manager did his upmost to get me back to work and everyone always checks in on me.
It has a structure based on the average people work at, although I find this rather slow. As well as this, we are very much left to our own devises and when we had webinars they were so tedious they didn't help at all.
Not very much, I've zoned out of completing my tasks as I have been off.
A lot of support. They have helped me loads with returning to work and always try help me with other things such as getting an advance on my pay slip.
I'm pretty sure my apprenticeship is one of the most well paid, I find it covers my costs when I'm living in shared accommodation but not so much on my own. I get annual pay rises which is always a positive. Travelling to work is quite expensive however.
I don't really attend company events as I work in a quieter office, when I worked in Manchester there was always something going on. I have been invited to a party by one of my managers though which is nice.
Yes
How supportive they have been to me and also the pay is good
Make sure you're ready to put yourself out there rather than just settle, I wouldn't recommend doing it as a forever career as the older staff hate their jobs.
