From this course the biggest thing I have learnt is looking at challenges from a different perspective. Through exercises I have developed the ability to question things more rationally as well as problem solve more efficiently. This course has also help me set out goals with a plan to ensure the succession of them. This as a consequence has helped me prioritise my workload more effectively. Lastly this course teaches you valuable management theories and standards to apply to your personal situation.
The programme has been quite good at bringing people from different divisions of the bank to share and thus help learn new ways in management and leadership. When I first started I did not have any expectations but the programme is organised well enough for me to recommend to anyone who wishes to improve their career within the bank.
I've been working for LBG for 2 years now and its been a very positive experience. I have now been recognised 4 times within the Group for my efforts and rewarded for doing a good job. Additionally my line manager hold 1-2-1 meetings with me on a monthly basis to review performance and ensure to provide motivation for my efforts as well as making me think about the next steps within my career.
It is well enough structured programme. A tutor is provided to me for guidance, support and escalations. Using a internal application I am able to keep track of my progress and view any messages/feedback from my tutor.
I have a tutor who I can reach out to when I have any issues or queries about the programme. The tutor also provides feedback on the submitted coursework.
My employer considers that 20% of my allocated time is devoted to the apprenticeship. My line manager makes sure I have the correct support I need if I have any issues whether that would mean to lighten my workload or delegate my tasks elsewhere.
It is a living wage but its not enough for me to set aside enough to buys my own property. My finances still need to be tracked heavily and I need to sacrifice social life in order to be able to save a little.
There are opportunities with volunteering and other company events. The company doesn't not enforce them and therefore it is up to the individual to find out more about them.
Yes
It is a place where I can see myself building a career. The company provides all the opportunities one can ask for to develop themselves in their chosen area of work. Although the wages are not as good as competitors, I believe other benefits out way them and colleagues here seem to have good job satisfaction.
LBG are really focused on their core values and adhering to them on a daily basis. When going through the application look out for keywords such as "keeping it simple" or "working together to make a change". The on boarding process could be lengthy but it depends on the hiring manager. It usually contains a phone interview followed by a face to face interview. All questions asked are focused around the banks values so they want to hear you provide examples which align with them.
