I am doing an Apprenticeship in Corporate Services. My daily tasks include writing reports, co-ordinating with staff, problem solving, helping to organise moves, administration, budgeting and working on projects. I interact with staff at all levels of the business and everyday comes with a new challenge.
I am working towards getting a level 3 in facility management, which means that I am learning essential skills and knowledge, such as risk management and contract management, and also applying them to the work I do everyday. I also have the opportunity to get extra essential qualifications, such as IOSHH Managing Safely.
I really enjoy my programme as it gives me the opportunity to problem solve and work with various people who I wouldn't normally. I am continually learning new skills and no day is the same.
I feel very valued. The teams always take the time to not only look at your career development, but also your personal development.
My programme is very organised and structured by Fidelity, with a clear team hierarchy in place. There are also events throughout the year organised to support apprentices.
I receive a good amount of support as I can contact my tutor at any time and he will respond and offer me advice, or if he does not know, find out the information. However, the training provider itself, is not very supportive and I don't think they fully support myself or my tutor.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. It also helps that my manager has a master degree in the qualification I am training for, so she always knows the answers to any of my questions.
My salary package is great, meeting all my costs.
I am constantly attending shows and events that support my learning, which is great as it means as my daily activities are varied and learning through a variety of ways. Fidelity also offers a set of paid days for volunteering and there is a CSR committee who you can talk to if you are interested in volunteering.
Yes
Because they have given me so many opportunities that I would not have if I was at Uni or working in an alternative organisation
Make sure you know why you want to work at Fidelity and try to understand the Fidelity values. If you feel that those values align with you, then you are perfect for the company.
