Technical Apprentice. Daily tasks include providing shop-floor assistance and problem solving initiatives, interacting with both contractors and other BAE Staff members at all levels. I am responsible for various things, ranging from holding weekly meetings with managers, interacting with shop floor, improving sections and areas of the business and having an active role overall. My projects include the update of the infrastructure of site wide roadways and pathways and also the installation of new fire exits.
Communications have developed. CATIA course has been executed with good results. Off-the-job training given by BAE Systems Preston Training Centre.
I enjoy all aspects of the apprenticship programme.
Extremely valued by team members and the overall hierarchy.
Well structured and organised material which is very relevant to the type of business sector we are involved in.
Excellent support as 99% of training is given by BAE Systems.
100% support, mainly from our training college but also from the placement department that you are visiting.
No issues.
Lots of company groups and events to get involved in, along with charity work and leisure activities.
Yes
Because it is a fantastic company to work for with a great number of opportunities and a large scope for a future career.
Draw on as many experiences you can from previous work and training you may have had. I would have liked to have been told however more about the role of a technician within BAE Systems MAI.
