As an Associate I have to test simple areas of the file such as cash and PPE and have lots of coaching and guidance from other team members on these areas - particularly the senior associates. On a daily basis we interact with our audit team and the clients in order to gather audit evidence to allow us to complete our work.
I have significantly improved my communication skills, learnt professional skills (such as interacting with clients) and strengthened my confidence.
I have really enjoyed the experience - it has been very tough but this has been character building. I feel proud of the relationships I have developed and the progress I can see in my own self.
Some managers were very supportive and praised me highly which was a great feeling to receive and really encouraged me going forward.
The organisation was not great. On the first few 'introduction days' it wasn't clear what needed to be done or what to do. Similarly on the last few days in the office no champions were present to tell us what to do so I felt unsupported.
The buddy programme is great and very supportive. Similarly we were assigned a People Manager which was our 'go to' for an authoritative support.
We get support but everyone is so busy that sometimes this is hard to receive or we feel like a burden asking for it.
The salary meets my costs on a basic level.
Yes, we often have Flying Start socials where all current and past Flying starts get together.
Yes
They are a prestigious company to work for - I feel proud that I work at PwC.
Be confident. If you are quiet and timid you won't show your communication and team-work skills which is a key part of the job. Similarly, don't be too bold or controlling as you will come across as too dominant.
