I am an associate level employee in the assurance department. I work on a variety of clients carrying out audit work to test material balances in order to ensure they have been correctly accounted for.
I have learnt to use technical accounting software such as Halo. I have also gained useful insight into a variety of business industries.
I have enjoyed working with a variety of people in both large and small teams. Everyone is friendly and it's an enjoyable environment to work. On a personal level I do not think it is an ideal career path for me therefore I believe I would be more suited to a different style of work.
Through positive feedback I have felt my work and presence within the team have been valued and given good recognition. Always encouraged to be involved in social activities and team spirit.
Provided with training and induction days to ensure we are prepared. We are offered constant support throughout placement and the opportunity to seek help if we need it. We have regular meetings with people to ensure our placement is going well.
Encouraged to keep in touch with the course leaders if we have any issues as they are very helpful and willing to change things to make a placement more enjoyable.
Support available from people managers, however levels of support with the work differs from team to team. Very strong in some large teams but harder in the smaller, more junior teams.
PwC cover travel costs to clients and the salary is appropriate for the grade I am at. It is also made possible as PwC provide accommodation to make it possible to live in Leeds.
Lots of social office events and occasions to bring everyone together. This has been especially apparent this year with the Hull and Sheffield offices joining Leeds, as integration has become a priority for the office atmosphere.
Yes
I would recommend the company as they provide good opportunities for experience in many different areas.
That it's always worth applying and to just be honest about experiences in the interview.
