I was part of multiple engagement teams, performing year end audits on different clients.
Yes, developed previous years experience
I think the programme is good to ease you into the working life. It helps you mature and interact with more senior people in an environment you are not used to. In final year we have to write a dissertation alongside working in busy season. This, as many have found, is very very difficult considering most days we work 10 hours and for a normal course they wouldn't have this.
On smaller clients you feel more appreciated as you have more responsibility but on larger clients you can sometimes feel lost and forgotten about. I feel that it is very expected that you complete overtime when not always necessary. This can make you feel uncomfortable when needing/ wanting to leave at 5.30 pm... our contracted hours.
Yeah it is well organised and there are always people to go to if we need support. By only coming during busy season, I find that it is very demanding every year and would be nice to see other parts of the year.
Each year we have training before we come onto placement, this is good as it refreshes what we had previously covered. There are also e-learns that we can complete which keep us up to date during work.
When working on clients I found people on my team were always available if I needed help or support on any of my work
It's nice that we now get paid overtime, because in previous years if you prorated out my pay and hours I was working less than minimum wage.
Not many opportunities available because we come in busy season and due to working many hours overtime I find there isn't much time left after work, and if there is I have very little energy.
Yes
It's a good company to work for and within the company there are lots of opportunities to advance/ relocate departments or location.
Practice and learn thoroughly about the industry you are wanting to join in.
