Flying Start Degree programme - FS1 - Hull. Working as a member of audit teams to complete testing over Financial statements. This would involved communicating with both the client and other members of the audit team. Responsible for completing testing over allocated areas of the file.
Developed technical knowledge to help pass exams, gaining exemption towards an ACA qualification. Improving both professional skills and people skills through increased interaction within a professional environment.
It's very enjoyable, giving a great insight into the working environment. It allows you to feel like a valued member of the team, with an engaging, hands-on approach. Overall, a fantastic insight into a future career.
Working as part of an audit team, you are made to feel valued by those around you, being given the help you require and allowing you to get to know the people you are dealing with through a sociable and friendly culture. Recognition schemes allow achievement to be highlighted and regular feedback shows how much you are appreciated
This is very well structured as you are able o learn whilst working and are able to experience various different areas of the job in a short period of time. this enables the best parts of the working and student environment to be made the most of. The regular manager meetings and debriefs on jobs allow for great organisation throughout the placement process.
Support is always offered if it is needed, everyone involved with the company is able and happy to help, with various external sources also available for personal and professional issues you are faced with.

The salary package is very fair considering the experience level a student has, with overtime being paid so there is an added reward for hard work, allowing you to feel valued.
Regular socials outside of work give great opportunities to network and increase. The company social club also offers opportunities to socialise and engage in activities outside of work.
