Audit Advisory advises organisations on how to effectively mitigate risk and make informed and intelligent risk decisions to maximise opportunities. This includes helping our clients prevent and manage risk-related issues regarding financial and non-financial business processes, technology and operations. Where appropriate, our advisory services extend to the design and implementation of revised control frameworks including the technology solutions. As a BrightStart (school leavers programme) I study for the ACA over a five year period alongside my day-to-day job.
- As above - I am studying towards the ACA degree. - Soft skills on how to work with different types of people. - How to effectively manage your time. - Dealing with client-facing work.
Extremely enjoying my time so far. The amount of experience, exposure and responsibility I have been given in the short period of time I have been at Deloitte. The periods when you are revising for exams alongside your job are intense, but you come into the programme knowing this.
Absolutely - I feel I have been given a large amount of responsibility already, with the correct and appropriate support there for me to develop.
The induction and training were extremely well organised - the only part of the programme I would say needed to be more organised would be the performance management aspect of your career and what the expectations of BrightStart's are.
Kaplan have been brilliant whenever I have asked for help - the tutors are willing to give up a large amount of their own time.
Again there is a large amount of support through a number of formal and informal channels e.g. buddies, appraisers, peer groups. All senior grades are always approachable.
Yes - the travel costs, as for everyone, are extortionate. It would be a massive push if I was also renting accommodation within London.
Yes - there are a vast amount of social and extra curricular activities to get involved in.
Yes
It's a great chance to have a large amount of experience, responsibility and exposure for someone at such a young age. If you work hard and do well, the support will be there for you to flourish.
Be prepared to work hard, be yourself in interviews - don't try and be someone you think they are looking for. Always push yourself at work.
